England vs India T20 series review : World Champions capsize quicker than expected.

As if the Ireland series wasn't enough to create a blot on the world champions mark, Shreyas Iyer’s India were hammered to the T across venues. In the process, India’s 2 year golden record not only came to an end but they also lost their number one ranking to England.

So where did India exactly lose the series?? In the second game, 60 were required of 4 overs. Shreys Iyer threw the ball to Ravi Bishnoi, who ends up conceding 29 which included 3 no balls and as many sixes of the free hit. Jacob Bethell, who was almost the hero in the semi final in march, stayed till the end and took his side home.

The rest of the games didn't go to plan either with the batting and bowling both faltering. If the Nottingham game was a nightmare, then the concluding game at Southampton was nothing short of abysmal. Apart from Harshit Rana and occasionally Arshdeep Singh, none of the bowlers had an impact and Brook and co took full advantage of a depleted Indian side.

Jofra Archer, Sam Curran, Josh Tongue and Adil Rashid were the key architects in the demolition job as Iyer and co will be keen to turn things around at the earliest. The positives for India?? Not many, but Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan were the only two as they made a sliver of an impact.

With not much attention on T20’s as the ODI world cup approaches, the arrival of Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli would like to make amends and get adequate match practice before the marquee tournament late next year.
