World cup winning all rounder Deepti Sharma was the highest paid cricketer at the WPL auction 2026 which was held in New Delhi on November 27.She returned to UP Warriorz for INR 3.2 crore through the RTM card after Delhi Capitals made the only opening bid at her base price. The deal , which was the second costliest one in WPL history, was totally worth it as Deepti has been more than handy with both bat and ball in the WPL.
Mumbai Indians spent over 52% of their purse to buy the under rated New Zealand spinner Amelia Kerr at INR 3 crore. Shikha Pandey also enjoyed a big payday, joining UP Warriorz for INR 2.4 crore after a long bidding war with Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Pandey, who was unlucky to miss out on selection for the 50 over world cup would want to have a good WPL to be in contention for the T20 world cup in June.
DC opened strongly by signing Wolvaardt for INR 1.1 crore and then pushed hard for Lanning, Deepti and Ecclestone, only to be beaten each time by UPW's RTMs and higher bids. But they managed some redemption as they picked up Shree Charani, Chenille Henry and Sneh Rana for 1.3 crores and 50 lakhs respectively. At the back end of the auction, they also managed to pick up Lizelle Lee at 30 lakhs.
GG picked Sophie Devine for INR 2 crore after a long three-way contest with RCB and DC. Renuka Singh was signed for INR 60 lakh and Titas Sadhu for INR 30 lakh. GG used RTMs to keep Bharti Fulmali at INR 70 lakh and Kashvee Gautam at INR 65 lakh, then brought back Kim Garth for INR 50 lakh. Later in the day, they added Georgia Wareham for INR 1 crore, along with wicketkeeper Yastika Bhatia for INR 50 lakh.
RCB, although they lost Shikha Pandey bought Laura Bell for 90 lakhs. They followed it up by buying Pooja Vastrakar, Nadine De Klerk and Radha Yadav for 85 and 65 lakhs respectively and brought wicket keeper batter Grace Harris for 75 lakhs to round off a successful auction for them.
