Star Indian off spinner Shreyanka Patil returns to the international setup as the Indian women look to make it 2 trophies within a year as they start prep for the ICC Women’s world T20 in England in June.
Having last played for India in the 2024 T20 World Cup, Shreyanka had been sidelined with injuries for the majority of 2025. Having missed the last WPL, she staged a strong comeback in the ongoing season for RCB, as she ripped through the UP batting order picking up 5 wickets, just before the squad was announced.
Apart from Shreyanka, middle order batter Bharti Fulmali, who is a robust finisher has also been recalled. Fulmali, who last played in 2019 has had a good WPL consistently, particularly this year, where she averages over 170. Harleen deol, who was the shining star for India in the 50 over world cup misses out.
The impressive G Kamalini has earned a spot in the squad, who can double-up as the wicket-keeper too. Radha Yadav and Arunadhati Reddy, the only member of India's World Cup winning squad who did not feature in a single game at the tournament, have been left out, while Kashvee Gautam has been slotted in.
The white-ball leg of the tour will start off at the SCG with the 1st T20I on February 15, with the next two on February 19 and 21 at the Manuka Oval and Adelaide Oval respectively. With a couple of days break, the action shifts to Brisbane for the first ODI on February 24 at the Allan Border Field. The next two ODIs are scheduled on February 27 and March 1 - both at Bellerive Oval in Hobart
The ODI and T20 series down under is more emotional as it marks the last appearance of Alesa Healey in international cricket. The veteran has been a part of many memorable Australian wins and the women will be more than happy to give her a winning farewell.
