Iyer, Bishnoi return to T20 squad as India look to continue their home dominance.

Talismanic Indian middle order batsman Shreyas Iyer returns to the T20 squad after a gap of 2 full years as he replaces the injured Tilak Verma in India’s upcoming T20 series against the Kiwis starting 21 January.

Iyer who had a fantastic IPL where he just missed the title by a whisker scored a mammoth 604 runs at a strike rate of 175. His inclusion will please many as fans thought that he was undeservingly overlooked. With Tilak doubtful for the T20 world cup as well, it is all but likely that the Punjab Kings skipper will be in the mix for the global event.

Ravi Bishnoi too makes a comeback to the squad after quite a gap and although he hasn’t had the best of the IPL, his variations will be tough for the kiwis to pick. It's unlikely that he will feature in all the game, but if he is amongst the wickets, it will be a happy headache for the selectors to draft him in for the injured Washington Sundar.

Both Iyer and Bishnoi have got their chances. Time for them to convert them and bang open the door of the team ahead of the mega showpiece event.
